FIRST COMMUNION AT ST. PETER'S
Becoming one with Christ
FIRST COMMUNION PREP
In order to receive First Communion, students must be enrolled in our parish school or part of our Religious Education program.
THE SACRAMENT OF FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion isn’t just a milestone in a child’s life; it’s the moment in which one is able to receive Jesus’ Body and Blood for the first time, uniting one deeply to Christ. It is our joy and honor to celebrate this sacrament with you and your family!
At St. Peter’s, children begin preparing to receive First Holy Communion in Grade 1, with reception of the sacrament taking place in the spring of Grade 2.

ADULT WHO HASN'T RECEIVED FIRST HOLY COMMUNION?
It’s never too late to receive the gift of Christ’s Body and Blood! For teens or adults who are baptized but have not received First Communion, we have a special program called OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) to walk with you through sacramental prep.

A FIRST OF MANY
We love when families and children are an active part of our St. Peter’s community! We encourage you to continue to bring your children to Mass for many subsequent Holy Communions. When you make prayer and Mass a central part of their lives when they’re young, they’re more likely to stay close to the faith throughout their life as they get older!
