FAITH FORMATION

Teaching future saints about Jesus is our favorite thing here in the Office of Faith Formation! We are honored to come alongside parents in helping form children and teens in the faith.

FOSTERING FAITH IN THE FUTURE OF THE CHURCH

WELCOME TO FAITH FORMATION!

We are excited to partner with you in helping teach your child about our incredible Catholic faith!

Our #1 goal is to help form our students to become disciples of Jesus. We start by fostering their relationship with Jesus, then teaching them as they get older how to live out that faith and share it with the world, supported by knowledge of Church history, teachings, and prayers.

Our office offers ongoing faith formation for children of all ages as well as sacramental prep for First Reconciliation and First Communion (received in Year 2) and Confirmation (received in 9th grade).

Registration for most programs takes place in late August/early September and will be available here. If you have recently moved to the area, please contact us so we can work with you to get your child(ren) placed in our program.

SACRaMENTAL PREP

At St. Peter’s, students in Grade 2 receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, and students in Grade 9 receive Confirmation. Have an older student who hasn’t received those sacraments? Contact us and we’ll work with you to get your student caught up!
Are you an adult who hasn’t received all of your sacraments? We have an adult program just for you! Find out more about OCIA here.
GRADES K-5

YOUTH FAITH FORMATION

Sundays 10:00-11:00 am

We love introducing your children to Jesus and the beauty of the Catholic faith! In our K-5 program, we focus on teaching students the story of Jesus, His love for them, the structure of the Mass, and basic prayers and Church teachings. Lots of crafts, songs, and interactive stories are used to help your children grow in their love for Jesus, Mary, and the saints, setting the foundation for lifelong faith.

In grade 2, we also work with students to prepare them to receive the Sacraments of First Penance (Confession) and First Holy Communion. Preparation for these sacraments begins in grade 1, with reception of the sacraments in the spring of grade 2.

GRADES 6-8

MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH MINISTRY

Sundays 2:00-3:15 pm

Each Sunday, our middle school students gather for a meal, games, and small group discussions about faith. It is a wonderful opportunity to foster maturing faith, building on their Youth Faith Formation foundations as a path to asking deeper questions, growing together in a faith community, and beginning to choose and live the faith for themselves.

GRADES 9-12

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH MINISTRY

Sundays 6:00-7:15 pm

Ready to make the faith your own? Confirmation is just the beginning of your life of faith! Our High School Youth Ministry meets weekly to share faith, fellowship, and fun and go deeper into what living as a Catholic in the “real world” looks like.

LOOKING FOR ADULT FAITH FORMATION OPPORTUNITIES?

We welcome adult volunteers as catechists and assistants to help us in passing on the faith to the future of our Church! Please contact Theresa Marquez, our Director of Religious Education, if you wish to volunteer.

Looking for opportunities to grow your own faith? Our Adult Faith Formation team offers numerous events and Bible studies throughout the year to continue to grow closer and go deeper in your relationship with Christ as an adult.
