HOLY ORDERS & RELIGIOUS VOCATIONS
Interested in pursuing a vocation to the priesthood or religious life? St. Peter’s clergy and community are here to support you in your discernment!
DIOCESE OF RALEIGH VOCATIONS
Considering a call to the priesthood or diaconate? The Diocese of Raleigh has an Office of Vocations dedicated to helping you discern God’s call for your life. They are a great resource for you in addition to our own clergy here at St. Peter’s!
THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY ORDERS
Do you think you may have a call from God to become a priest, deacon, or religious brother (friar) or sister (nun)? We highly encourage you to pursue that call — the consecrated life is full of blessings and joy!
The Sacrament of Holy Orders is received by deacons, priests, and bishops through the Diocese of Raleigh. It is a beautiful life of being set apart for service to the Church, particularly through the celebration of the Mass and sacraments.
Though not a sacrament, we also encourage parishioners to consider a call to religious life as a nun or friar, dedicated to a life of prayer and often radical service in a particular area of the Church (education, the poor, healthcare, etc.).
Any parishioner considering a call to the priesthood or religious life is encouraged to talk with Fr. Magee, who is happy to pray with you, help you discern, and give you resources to assist you with the next steps in the process of pursuing your vocation.
PRAY FOR VOCATIONS!
Even if you don’t have a vocation to the priesthood or religious life yourself, we encourage you to pray for vocations, particularly from our parish.
