CONFIRMATION AT ST. PETER'S
Sealed by the Spirit, sent on mission
CONFIRMATION PREP
In order to receive Confirmation, students must be enrolled in our parish school or part of our Religious Education program.
THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
While the Sacrament of Confirmation is the final of the three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Communion, Confirmation), it is truly the beginning of one’s Christian life!
During the sacrament, the person being confirmed accepts the Catholic faith as their own and is “sealed” with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts enable them to then go out and share the Gospel with others through their words and actions.
At St. Peter’s, youth receive Confirmation in Grade 9. We also have older teens and adults who have not previously been confirmed who receive the sacrament at the Easter Vigil each year.
ADULT IN NEED OF CONFIRMATION?
It’s never too late to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit! For adults who are baptized and have received First Communion but have not received Confirmation, we have a special program called OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) to walk with you through sacramental prep.

– At least 16 years old
– Have completed the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation
– Be living a life in communion with the Catholic Church, and if married, married in the Catholic Church
– Not the father or mother of the child
Confirmation sponsors serve two roles: They present you to the bishop for Confirmation, witnessing to the fact that you have completed the requirements for Confirmation, and they act as a role model in the faith for the rest of your life, someone you can turn to with faith questions, for prayers, and a witness of what it looks like to live as a Catholic adult.
Congratulations! If you meet the requirements above and have been a registered parishioner of St. Peter’s for at least six months, please fill out this form.
No problem! You are welcome to email us at any time at tmarquez@spccnc.org We also have a Confirmation group for additional notices on Flocknote as well as parent meetings as we prepare for the sacrament.
CONFIRMATION ISN'T THE CONCLUSION.
In fact, it’s just the beginning! We highly encourage you to join our High School Youth Ministry for a place to ask those big faith questions as you enter more into the “real world” as well as grow in a community of Catholic teens living their faith and serving others like Jesus taught us.
